Sharke: WIP

As an artist, I have a bad habit. Okay, so I might have a few bad habits. There is one habit, however, which stands out among the rest… And in my mind demands resolution: Unfinished work. I am, therefor, initiating a new category in my blog. The Work in Progress, known by many as WIP. The function of the WIP category is to encourage me to push forward with ideas that I have, and to see them to completion.

This first WIP is currently being worked on in Corel Painter X. It is a memorial to my friend Mark Long, Jr, who was killed by a drunk driver. Mark was also known as Sharke, and was a talented DJ, Graffiti Artist, and BBoy.

The first image is the original paper and ink drawing which was then scanned and brought into Painter X. The second image is the current state of the project. You may have seen the first image in my Digital Blackbook gallery (Another unfinished work. Sheesh). Click on the images to get a closer look.
