Another short rant here… I finally did an upgrade to the most current version of Wordpress. Not so bad, WP makes if fairly easy plus they have full backup instructions for your database from within phpMyAdmin which you can find here. Unfortunately, I decided to update a few of my plugins, including NextGEN Gallery. Which in itself went well. But when I updated the NextGEN-FlashViewer plugin for the NextGEN Gallery plugin I suddenly lost Simpleviewer capabilities for NextGEN Gallery. However, I did discover that the Lightbox effect has been ironed out in the new version of NextGEN Gallery (I haven’t updated it in quite a while). Pair that with the Shadowbox JS plugin and you get real easy Shadowbox galleries. So I guess it all works out, or something.

Just a rant here: Why is it that people cannot figure out the Insert More Tag on their blogs? I mean, the format isn’t that difficult to comprehend. Write the initial paragraph of your blog post as a teaser; click the Insert More Tag button, then write the rest of your post. Then, only your teaser shows up on the main page, and I don’t have to scroll for two miles to get to the next post! And now, the Insert More Tag in action:

I just finished a rather large video project at iDC Photography which I did animation, video editing, sound, DVD authoring, and technical assistance during shooting. When I got to the final stages of completing the project, some fairly serious color issues started rearing their ugly little troll-like heads.

Well, its been about a week since I got back from Portugal. Quite a beautiful and interesting place, and I wouldn’t mind going back if my wife was with me (and if I didn’t have to work). Since I was running 2 HD cameras for most of the trip, I wasn’t able to take many pictures. In fact, the only camera I had was the 2 megapickle camera on my Treo. I stopped into a Fry’s Electronics store today to pick up a bluetooth headset (Yes, I am now one of those people). Seeing as I have read and heard about so many awful experiences associated with the Fry’s stores, I find it fitting that I tell mine: The employee who helped me wore too much cologne and his fly was down. He never noticed. I never told him. I hope someone did. Kinda.
